I attended Ottawa University in Phoenix, Arizona where I obtained my Masters of Arts degree in Professional Counseling in 2010. I became an independent Licensed Professional Counselor in Arizona in 2015. I am certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors. I am also a Certified Trauma Professional through the International Trauma Training Institute. Additionally, I am trained in EMDR CBT and DBT.
I have lived in two different countries and I have traveled extensively. I love nature, people, authentic foods, music, art and different cultures. My diversity and exposure to different cultures allow me to offer you a non-judgmental environment in which you will be heard and respected. I have great joy listening to and learning from others.
My practice is culturally sensitive, nurturing, compassionate, honest, respectful and geared towards solving your problems collaboratively. I offer active supportive feedback and encouragement. To assist you in achieving your goals, I will challenge some long-held views that may be impeding your growth. Together, we will work to create the changes you desire help you find your inner peace.
Everyone has a unique story and point of view which colors their experience, and ability to successfully navigate life’s transitions. I specialize in helping people to uncover core issues contributing to anxiety, depression, poor self-esteem, intimate partner conflict/ divorce, codependency, anger, parental challenges, loss/grief and bereavement issues. I am experienced in working with individuals struggling with trauma, substance abuse, mood disorders, and interpersonal conflict.
My goal is to help you understand that while the relationship we have with others adds to our happiness and sense of connectedness, the ultimate relationship we need to nurture is the one we have with ourselves. When we are able to view ourselves as worthy, as deserving, as good, as loving, and as beautiful as we view others, we are then able to find inner peace.
Your expectation and belief in your ability to create the life you want is at stake. You may believe in your ability to change, but lack of knowledge of how or where to start. This is where I can help. As your therapist I am committed to helping you work through feeling disconnected from your life and loved ones, being stuck in anger and fear, and feeling hopeless. We will work together to overcome these obstacles so you can create the life you desire.
